— As Dr Chidi Lloyd Sets To Mark One Year Anniversary With Harvest Of Projects
As the Emohua Local Government Council sets to mark the one year anniversary of the administration of Dr. Chidi Lloyd with a week long harvest of projects being executed by the administration across the local government area in July, the already completed ‘Emohua Local Government Area Vigilante Services Secretariat Building’ conceptualized by the administration of Dr. Chidi Lloyd has been earmarked as one of the projects to be commissioned during the anniversary celebration.
Recall that upon assumption of office in June 2021 (barely one year), the executive chairman of Emohua Local Government Council, Dr. Chidi Lloyd during a facility tour of government properties across the local government area visited the former Emohua skill acquisition center situated at Mgbuitanwo junction, along the East-West road and was irked by the deplorable condition of the facility which was regrettably abandoned by successive administrations in the local government council, and immediately approved the site for the construction of Emohua local government vigilante services secretariat building.
Aside the approval to put the abandoned property to effective use, Dr. Chidi Lloyd also approved the acquisition of additional portion of land beside the old property to enable the works department of the council come up with a befitting secretariat building, with a security tower and a spacious car park for the local government security outfit as envisioned by the council chairman.
The construction of the secretariat building which has been under the direct intensive supervision of Dr. Chidi Lloyd has been tasteful completed and awaiting inauguration and formal handover to the local government security outfit (Emovis).
EMOVIS is the acronym for the new Emohua LGA security architecture christened; ‘Emohua Local Government Area Vigilante Services’, a creation of the administration of Dr. Chidi Lloyd, backed by law and regulated by Emohua local government council, with members nominated from the 14 wards of Emohua LGA, who were profiled and trained by security agencies to provide local intelligence and surveillance, as well as respond swiftly to crime and criminal activities across Emohua LGA, with a view to improving the internal security of the local government area, in synergy with the different security agencies.
The Emohua LGA vigilante services which has a retired police superintendent as its Commander-General, with a good number of indigenous retired military and paramilitary personnel as well as experienced hunters as members, also had some of its members selected from the defunct OSPAC vigilante groups in the area who were recommended as the good heads from the disbanded OSPAC based on popular opinion on their conduct and their individual contribution to the restoration of peace and security in their respective communities across the local government area.
This vigilante secretariat building when handed over to the management committee of EMOVIS will not only serve as the administrative office and muster point for the security outfit but will also provide a front desk for information, reports , complaints and feedbacks from members of the general public.
This is another well-intentioned signature project of the administration of Dr. Chidi Lloyd in line with the council chairman’s commitment to reposition Emohua Local Government Area by providing adequate security for residents, visitors and investors in the local government area, with a view to attracting rapid development to the area.
